The story of the Mighty Sparrow continues to soar across the Caribbean, this time through the powerful stage production Ten To One: The Mighty Sparrow Musical, which recently received a warm and appreciative reception in St. Lucia.

The musical celebrates the life, music, wit, brilliance, and cultural impact of Slinger Francisco, the Calypso King of the World, tracing the early years of his rise and the powerful songs that helped shape the modern calypso movement.

At the heart of the production is a strong creative team of Caribbean cultural minds. The musical was written and produced by Rawle Gibbons, with Louis McWilliams serving as director and Marva Newton as musical director. The wider team also includes Rawle-Ann Gibbons, Joanna Charles, and Asha Stewart, all contributing to a production rooted in Caribbean storytelling, performance, and historical memory.

Adding even more calypso weight to the project, two-time Calypso Monarch Chuck Gordon was also part of the production, helping connect the stage presentation to the living tradition of the art form itself.

With its St. Lucia showing, Ten To One proved once again that Sparrow’s story is bigger than one island. His music, humor, sharp social commentary, and fearless voice belong to the entire Caribbean.
