HIGH COURT DECLINES TO HALT TUCO ELECTIONS- ELECTIONS TO PROCEED ON 12th JULY 2026

The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians' Organisation (TUCO) advises its membership and the public that the High Court of Justice has declined to grant the application for an injunction that sought to restrain TUCO's National Executive Elections. The elections will therefore proceed as scheduled on Sunday 12th July 2026.

The application, brought on behalf of Kurt Allen in the matter of CV2026-02720 Kurt Allen v Trinbago Unified Calypsonians' Organisation, Ainsley King and Shirlane Hendrickson, asked the Court to stop the election pending the hearing of a wider claim. Having heard the parties and considered evidence filed by the parties, the Court refused the application. The election timetable, fixed by the General Council in accordance with TUCO's Constitution, stands.

TUCO thanks its members for their patience during this period. The Organisation remains committed to a free, fair and transparent electoral process, conducted in accordance with its Constitution, and looks forward to the participation of all financial members in good standing.

As the substantive proceedings remain before the Court, TUCO will make no further comment on the details of the litigation at this time.
