Trinidad and Tobago soca legend Austin “Superblue” Lyons will be honoured this Saturday, September 12, 2026, with The River Runway 2026: Icons of Influence Lifetime Achievement Award in New York City.

The event, being held at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, will celebrate Superblue's extraordinary contribution to Caribbean music and culture.

The honour arrives during Trinidad and Tobago’s commemoration of 50 years as a Republic, making the recognition especially significant for an artiste whose career has become inseparable from the country's Carnival story.

Superblue remains one of soca’s most recognisable and influential performers, with a career built on powerful Road March hits, commanding stage performances and an unmistakable ability to energise Carnival audiences.

For generations of soca fans, his music has provided some of the soundtrack to Trinidad and Tobago Carnival. Saturday’s award gives the veteran performer another well-deserved moment of recognition for a cultural legacy that continues to resonate at home and across the diaspora.
