Brother Valentino’s “Legacy Concert” Promises a Baton-Passing Night at Kafe Blue

On Friday, 2nd October 2026, calypso lovers will gather at Cafe Blue, 1D Wrightson Road, Port of Spain, for a special evening celebrating one of Trinidad and Tobago’s true cultural icons. The People’s Calypsonian, Brother Valentino, will present “Legacy Concert: Passing on the Baton” from 8:00 p.m.
The concert is being positioned as more than just another performance. It is a moment of reflection, celebration and transition, one that honours Brother Valentino’s enormous contribution to calypso while spotlighting the next generation through Joel Phillip and band, performing selections from his father’s rich catalogue of music.
Patrons can expect an evening filled with some of Brother Valentino’s greatest hits, the spirit of classic calypso, and the emotional power of seeing legacy shared live on stage. With Errol Fabian serving as MC, the event promises warmth, storytelling and a fitting tribute to a man whose work has helped shape the cultural landscape of Trinidad and Tobago.
With admission at $200, Legacy Concert: Passing on the Baton looks set to be a meaningful night for calypso fans, lovers of live music, and anyone who appreciates the power of heritage being carried forward.
